COOLEST RUN EVER. like literally... it was chilly out there haha :) emily & bryn & i braved the SUPER strong winds and headed out on our run. at first it was miserable cause the wind sucked but i was feeling surprisingly good so we went pretty fast and got past that part quick. then it got exciting cause literally 2 dogs chased us down the street which made us surge real fast and brynlee scream every time hahahaha and then every other dog we passed went crazzzzy too. it was really funny tbh. oh and i totally almost slipped in the mud trying to long jump over a puddle hahah so that got a killer scream from me too! emily is too cool to scream so ya know... she couldve screamed at the guy who shouted out his truck at us though that gave me a jump haha good thing we were running fast so you couldn't really tell. haha on the way back we were flying at like a 7:35 pace and we all were feeling way good :)

bryn keeps on getting mad at me for never posting soooo... ;) today was gr88. we were all feeling pretty good so we were going fastish? kinda... haha just enough to make it not recovery but not too killer. emily & brynlee & grace & lil nug all had some quality stories today so that was a party. also i almost got hit by a truck (my bad) haha but i mean talk about adrenaline... :) it was warm though which was super gr8 until afterwards when i was doing drills with mario and like half passed out lolz. s/o to her waterbottle bc i was not going to make it to the drinking fountain without dying. i will definitely be hydrating more tm...  and for the rest of the summer. haha.

the speed was 2 sets of 200m, 800m, 400m, 200m, 200m, 200m. i was feeling pretty good again and hit my goal paces every time so that was super awesome. it was hot again too which was funn haha s/o to lil nug for letting me borrow her socks. i owe her big time...

quality run today with em & bryn. it was super hot though... thank goodness for sprinklers haha. also s/o to my new friend joey the kangaroo except he isn't a kangaroo.. just a kid who started running with us randomly lolol but he only stayed with us for like a block hahahaha.

nice and easy recovery run with em & bryn. we went on some busy roads though haha so s/o to the drag racers for scaring me to death hahaha i thought for sure they were going to hit us. it was the perfect temperature though so that was awesome!

jv region today! 'twas good ;) perfect temperature but my legs were a lottle tired lolz. s/o to the math final that kept me up all night haha.. but super fun day overall! the 800m was alright but i was just getting warmed up for the 2 mile which wasn't anything crazyyyyy but a good starting time! SUPER HUGE s/o to bryn cause she basically ran every distance event. like wow she's goals. also great job to everyone that raced today you are all my favs!

RUNNING IS THE BESTEST. so glad break is over haha. met up at brynlee's then went on a 3ish mile loop... we went a little over though cause my guesstimating skills are lacking these days... new shoes felt swell and it was the perfect temperature so that was gr88 :)

nice & easy run with lucille today :) we went a sweet trail by her house with hills and such but it was pretty short so i figured we could jump the river then cut through a field to get back to the main road. turns out the "field" was actually a river/swamp/lake thing... idrk how i didn't see that before but minor details lolz. running upriver was quite the adventure... well, a wet adventure. :) haha our feet were soaked for the rest of the run (& i owe an apology to my new shoes) but it was so so so fun. ;) also some quality convos with lu made it go by super fast even though we were going slowish... haha 'twas a good day.

beautiful run down in st george! it was quite hilly & hot buuuut i was feeling way good so that was fine haha :) went about a 7:30 pace for most of the time & then did some lit abs down by the pool... haha i'm thinking maybe it'd be funner to do abs in the pool though... maybe i'll try that tm lol

super lit trail run today! it went off of the main road i was on and straight up the mountain... like straight up. haha it was super pretty though and coming down was way nice. did the lower body weights and some abs after.

it was SO good to be back with the team! (for a day...) haha nice little warm up, 5's, then 1/2 low mileage again with laurel, watson & guppy. did some upper body & abs afterwards which was grand. quality day with quality people. oh & my parking job was $$ so that was exciting!

party run in geezy with the girlies :) i probably wouldn't recommend staying up until 2 or 3am then waking up at 7 to run but i mean... you do what you gotta do. ;) it was just recovery so we headed out not really knowing where we were going & ended up on a dirt trail for a while but then to continue on the trail you had to climb down a cliff and cross a river... lolz cause we made it down the cliff but then i totally stepped into the river & my shoes were SO WET. #blisterheaven haha other than that though it was a quality run with super pretty views everywhere.

lit night run with brynerz. "easy" pace felt really good (tbh not looking forward to it again tm though) & it was the perfect temperature even if it was a little wet haha :) also there was a quality sunset while we were cooling down so that was a major plus.

felt way better today then i've felt in a while. s/o to jamie for the new knee trick she taught me cause it's working!!! 90 sec pickups were a lil rough but i stayed with hannah the whole time & we were ahead or on pace so yayyy. our 3 mile cool down was probably the longest 3 miles of my life but we had a beautiful ice bath afterwards which made me happy happy happy.

temple to temple 5k! i got there late so i just started out with callie & ryah but i separated from them pretty early so i ran most of the race alone... but i felt way good, plus the downhill was amazing so it wasn't hard to stay positive. my watch glitched at the finish so i'm not sure what my time was but about 100m out i was at a 19:30 so ik i was somewhere in the 20's... haha doesn't count as a PR since it was all downhill and not quite 3.1 but it was still fun :) cooled down afterwards then headed up to bridalveil falls with my cousins :)

stellar run this morning. ended up around an 8flat for all 7 miles so that was super great- i probably shouldve gone faster looking back on it but the view was spectacular soooo might as well stay out as long as possible... ;) idk if i will ever be satisfied to run in utah again though cause these iowa trails are the BEST. ❤ as soon as i got back though we went on an "authentic" trek which made my calves quite sore...

good bike ride up the mountain this morning with my dad. i was quite exaushted before we started so by mile 7 or so uphill...you can imagine... ;) the trail we usually go on was closed so we went a new way but turns out the new trail went like straight up lol we ended up walking our bikes for the last little bit but the view at the top was so worth it. coming down that hill was probably one of the sketchiest things i've ever done though haha... stay safe friends.

welp. i couldn't decide on what i wanted my goal pace to be for the race so i figured right around 7 flat would be good... push me a lil but not anything too crazy. next time i'm going for crazy smh. turns out i totally could have gone faster in the race but i was like "eh i'm right on pace" and by the time i actually felt like speeding up it was kinda too late. note to self: don't set easy goals. they're worthless. on a happier note i very much enjoyed jumping over the hay bales, it was more than a 40 second PR on my two mile from tuesday (like 2 minutes from last year) && my grandpa told me he did cross country "back in the day." what a champ.

6 90sec pickups up center street today. it would have been fine except i hadn't drunk like any water in at least 24 hours... i'm not sure how that happened but it did & of  course it was abnormally hot. anyways felt good for the first 4 then mostly died a real live death on the last two lol. i was planning on finishing mileage after we got back to the school but as soon as we started heading back i got super dizzy and started seeing stars so we stopped in the shade for a lil while so i could collect myself... i decided to try to keep going back but i couldn't even walk straight. s/o to emily for holding me up she's a true pal. after about a block i was feeling more steady so we jogged the rest of the way... slowly ha. tbh i still have a major headache from all the spinning going on but i do not think i'm ever going to forget to drink again so that's a plus...

quite the emotional roller coaster today.. ha started out by dropping danny boy off at the MTC which was a lil bit rougher than expected but after a nap i was pretty pumped to go race & get my mind off things. then the boys surprised us & asked us all to xchomecoming when we got off the bus and it was srsly the cutest. team goals. s/o to drew cause i'm hecka excited :) the team spirit was so cool! for the actual "race" i just stayed in tempo range but mentally felt really strong and had a kick that i was proud of. also i've never been happier to finish mileage lol. solid day.

speed! it was 1000 m @ goal 5k pace then a 200 m jog then a 200 m sprint. turns out the sprinting was the best part. lol i hit pretty consistent 4:10's to 4:15's the whole workout which was goal pace for me so that was sick. mentally felt pretty strong but then i remembered i still had to go to soccer practice.... not sure how many more miles i got there but my legs hurt a lottle.

wow. I LOVE BOB FIRMAN. seriously though it is my favorite course, favorite trip, with my favorite people, etc. got some quality naps I'm since our race wasn't until 3:20. ugh. haha it turned out fine though! the only girls who passed me the whole time were emily & carolyn so s/o to them. i got 11th overall in the jv race so that was way fun- and it really pushed me at the end cause i thought only top 10 got medals haha. i matched my PR which i haven't been even close to for a while so that was super awesome! good times. i should've pushed it more on mile 3 but overall it was a strong mental race and i was happy with it :)

lol @ my wimpy mileage. varsity state was today! i got out of class to go cheer cause i love them all. hey speed! long time no see. the workout was 5 1000's @ goal pace for NXR with some speeding up/ kicking mixed in then 3 400's at last years mile pace then consecutively faster. i felt so sick all day so i was "super" excited to run but it wasn't actually that bad. ap for the 1000's was 6:43. so not slower or faster than what i wanted-just plain honest times. felt good after that mentally and was super motivated for the 400's. sport's psych is working miracles on me lol. kept the first 400 brutally honest (maybe a lil slow) with a 93... but last track season was... sickly. plus i had a lot more in me so i pushed it more on the last two. ended up getting an 87 then a 78 cause i felt like it- track is going to be better this year i already know. abs & hips with some pals after my cooldown. oh and the weather today was perfect so huge s/o to mother nature and her sympathy to us runners.

ARIZONA IS MY FAVORITE. felt almost eerily calm the whole trip & knew i could perform well. for the past week or so i've been focusing on the number 21 which sounds weird (like seriously every time i see it idk #sportpsych) but i wanted to break 22 SO BAD. got a quality bib number 1592 (which rearranged was my goal haha) so i was pretty excited. ;) morning of i just trusted my training and didn't worry about the race until literally when i was on the line. s/o to the cute orem boys that let me cut in line for the bathroom... they're the real mvp's. anyways led the cheer then got out there. i could tell the first mile was a lil quick but i didn't want to freak myself out so i didn't look at my time. (6:39) second mile i did what jamie recommended and played the catching game which really worked for me. (6:56) after some gained confidence i tried to maintain and kept thinking positive things. it was such a mental race for me. last mile i hit a wall a little but i pushed through it and came up pretty consistently (7:09) the course was 3.2 so the last straightaway felt forever long but i did have somewhat of a kick so that was good. if i get the opportunity to come again next year, i want to have more of a kick. overall i got a 6:53 ap and felt like it was a major breakthrough for me. super proud of the jv girls they all did great. love this team. also i'm so grateful for all that jamie, gill and the other coaches do for us. they are awesome!

FOOTLOCKER! the course was hard but good! i ran in the junior race with brynlee and karley so that was way fun too. mentally i was pretty anxious for the race before it started (aka a nightmare about not making it past mile 1) but once the gun went off i was fine. worked on keeping my head up and focusing on surging at the top of the hills and giving it everything i had. mile 1 was 6:35 which was perfect then the hills were in mile two so i slowed down... a lot haha. if i run the course again i want to push it a little more on the uphill and have better form. i was proud of my kick though and happy with the result! love this team ❤ (except for tyson cause he threw me into the ocean...)
