BYU! super excited for the course but mentally not in it for the race. my legs felt pretty shot & it got to me on the third lap.. ive also been feeling sort of sick lately so that didn't go so well- it was frustrating bc i felt way better on wednesday when i didn't prepare for the race than i did when i tried to be prepared... oh well haha PRed my time from last year on the course!

speed! it was 1000 m @ goal 5k pace then a 200 m jog then a 200 m sprint. turns out the sprinting was the best part. lol i hit pretty consistent 4:10's to 4:15's the whole workout which was goal pace for me so that was sick. mentally felt pretty strong but then i remembered i still had to go to soccer practice.... not sure how many more miles i got there but my legs hurt a lottle.

well. i was quite determined to finish my whole mileage before the bell rang... talk about motivation. premeet was true to what i was hoping for. had some conditioning for soccer later... probably only about one more mile though cause i left early...

murray was SO FUN. ate the first peach of the harvest right before i ran and it was so good. kinda tired but mentally strong. love racing with all the girls. first mile was a lil speedy @ a 6:35 lol but i stayed with the same pack the whole race so that was sweet. we slowed down a lot though... oh well. i think i definitely could have gone harder on mile 3 and caught a few girls but overall i was happy with how it turned out... also i finished all my mileage. wahoooo

first day of AWESOME week! we did whistle hills down in the gulley of the mct which was way fun except the curve was kinda throwing me off... haha i felt good though so that was a plus. s/o to lucille for killing it. i have much love for positive energy.

kicker today! felt alright to start out and then sorta died on the second hill.. ugh. mentally stayed strong though and made sure i had a stronger last half mile. also was happy with my kick so that's a plus. i think my time was 11:27...? maybe lolz so that's slower than usual but not too far off.

4 mile repeats today. i was the first girl in my group almost every time i think? haha felt strong and it was nice to run with some boys because they pushed me. also i stayed under 7 min for every single one so that made me so happy!! :)

wow. I LOVE BOB FIRMAN. seriously though it is my favorite course, favorite trip, with my favorite people, etc. got some quality naps I'm since our race wasn't until 3:20. ugh. haha it turned out fine though! the only girls who passed me the whole time were emily & carolyn so s/o to them. i got 11th overall in the jv race so that was way fun- and it really pushed me at the end cause i thought only top 10 got medals haha. i matched my PR which i haven't been even close to for a while so that was super awesome! good times. i should've pushed it more on mile 3 but overall it was a strong mental race and i was happy with it :)

6 min test! i got 1550 yards which is almost 200 yards more than last year so i was happy with that. if i would've just finished the mile i would've pred so that was a bummer. next time.

speed ladder today. felt good to be going at mile speed again. i was on or faster for all of my times so that was awesome and mentally i was in it too. good day. finishing mileage was the hardest thing ever though... my stomach was having major problems.

did a rushed warmup/ drills with hecka sore legs... basically i couldn't even walk lolz but i was determined to have a good mental race so that was that. my time definitely reflected how tired i was but i stayed in it the whole time in my head and scored second for skyridge right after emily hales. also i really liked the course even though most people didn't... there was lots of diversity so it went by pretty fast for me idk 😂 s/o to sports phycology. what a great class. also cheering/ cooling down with a couple of the girls was fun fun. love them all.
